Roomies by Sara Zarr and Tara Altebrando

I'm on a Contemporary roll right now,so yeah...
The story looked interesting to me but I wasn't expecting much from this book. Well, I was wrong.

Elizabeth and Lauren are two very different girls who are going to start their freshman year in the same college and are assigned as each others room mates. So they start emailing to get to know each other before college starts.A conversation that started from microwaves and mini-fridges soon turns into a deeper one, with each one sharing her life's complications, the hard goodbye's and the changes in themselves.

This book was AMAZING. It was so much more than just an ordinary "chick-flick". The subjects this book deals with are so diverse. Here's the list : change, friendships, rocky relationships, absentee and irresponsible parents, college, future, career and yes, skin color/racism.

Apart from some of the drama and teenage angst in the second half, there was just one problem, this book was toooo short. I NEEDED more!

This is a book that should be read after a heavy, emotionally wrenching read  (*screams* ALLEGIANT!), and I give it 4 STARS

Go on, read it!

The City of Heavenly Fire Cover...

Does this look like City of Fallen Angels to anyone? Definitely does to me.
I hate to say it but i'm disappointed with this, I was expecting it to be more EPIC, you know?

I wished they could have shown Magnus and Alec or Isabelle and Simon. But, Clary (with her unnaturally red hair) and Sebastian????
WHY? they are not.to.be.shipped.

Also that city background is waaay less prominent than that in the other books, why change the format in the last book?
There are a lot of ''why's'' here.

All this aside, I cannot wait for the book anymore, they could have at least released it in march but no, the readers have to suffer.

CoHF, please be good, and give an ending worthy of those two unnecessary books I had to read years I had to wait. And I don't need any more Jace and Clary drama. JUST NO.

Just Listen by Sarah Dessen

I really really liked this book.

“There comes a time when the world gets quiet and the only thing left is your own heart. So you'd better learn the sound of it. Otherwise you'll never understand what it's saying.”

Annabel Greene is the girl who has everything ; but then something happens that causes a fallout between Annabel and her "best friend", Sophie.
Her outgoing sister Kirsten is in New York and her other sister, Whitney, is suffering from an eating disorder.
With all this in her family, Annabel is just too nice to state her problems and covers them up with "I'm fine", but then she meets Owen, a boy who's committed to truth telling.....

Many people say that Sarah Dessen books follow a similar
plot-line, I have to agree, but don't let that stop you from reading this book, because that plot-line is pretty good.

This isn't exactly a "feel good" book, but the ending definitely makes you feel all happy inside.
So I give this book 4.2 STARS

Go on and read it!

A basic Introduction

Hi!
This is Pratiksha, a student from New Delhi. I've created this blog so that I can vent out my feelings about the many books I read. I like to read YA novels, mostly dystopian or Scifi. I hardly read non-fiction and the closest I've come to it is by reading realistic fiction.(i.e not close at all)

Some of my all time favorite Books/Series are..
  • Harry Potter Series (how could it not be!)
  • Percy Jackson and The Olympians/ Heroes of Olympus
  • The Hunger Games Trilogy
  • The Maze Runner Trilogy
  • Divergent Trilogy
  • The Perks of Being a Wallflower
  • Speak
Believe me this list could go on and on....

So, what will my blog contain?
You can expect some book reviews/rants, Gushing about my favorites and many more things book related.
